thank you for the feature but I'm not sure I deserve the number one spot on your top ten list.
My vote goes to Don for that spot.

I don't look at most of the others very often, only Don and Jane on a regular basis and Peak when he was around. It's too easy to fall into the HSS trap.

There only so many ways you can slice the same pie.

You've been at this a lot longer than I, Timmy, and maintain consistently great quality. You deserve every kudo you get, and then some.

I haven't commented much since being recently retired while taking a break and I will preface this by saying I'm sure it was an understandable accident, given the Duchess with Candi ample talent, but post 1567 cap #2 was one of mine that I did some time ago. Never the less I'm glad it made the list.

Hmmm. Interesting, Zinc. Thank you for the information - and for your great works! It was, indeed, taken from the Duchess's thread. I want to be transparent here. I can make errors. But I checked and I did get it from the Duchess thread. So..........

The thread appears to be a compilation of caps made by others. During a quick scan I recognized caps by Christine, heavenlymr, greg, and even one of mine. While that isn't a problem if that's clearly stated, the absence of any attribution to the artists is very much a problem. Does it surprise me? No. People used to put their names on other writers' works all the time on Usenet stories groups, or copy them to websites that charged a fee to join and read them. It's tough to police - the most we can do is educate those who may be clueless, and finally shame them if they don't "get it". I wouldn't hold my breath...

Should we really be considering the handjob in the car pic (post 1574 above) a ripoff? To me, it's a re-cap. I don't see anything wrong with finding a hot picture and using it for a new caption, which in that case it clearly is - a recap - a different slant on it altogether (car salesman vs. coworker). The post above that (1573) is clearly a ripoff because the concept behind the verbage in the cap is the same. Just my $0.02.

I have also feel the same way. Many great pictures should and are shared. My thoughts are often quite different than what others see in the same pic. Not better or worse just different and therefore they appeal to others in a alternate way. However, I do believe most of those Kenneth referenced are far too close to the original.

Great stuff by many artists featured here. As always Kenneth...I appreciate your hard work...

This is merely my opinion, but by posting HSS's ripoffs, you are publicizing her. She steals and takes credit for other peoples work. Indeed, it's your thread, but I don't think that she deserves mention. Maybe for her covers.

Thanks for your input, lilmikey. I do it because I promised if the behavior continued, the shaming would last a year. I am now keeping that promise. Plus it's fun! What is MORE fun is enjoying the works of artists with actual talent people like you. I love your original work!
