I, too, agree. There have been so many of these stupid groups that I go to the trouble of trying to join, only to be denied because my "why you should let me join" message didn't turn them on enough. I, too, don't bother any more with such groups.

I think you folks are wrong. It's better to have a moderated group that you have to join, or at least that requires approval of messages. Otherwise, the group will die from tons of spam.
