Washing Jim's Car

Saturday April 30
Around ten oclock, the phone rang and from her tone and laugh I knew that it was Jim. I was washing the breakfast dishes and I could hear some of the conversation. "That will be fine Jim"...."I'm sure he'll do a good job."...."Darling you know the agreement. He'll do whatever we ask him to do." She laughed and came into the kitchen. "That was Jim. He's coming over this afternoon. He wants you to wash his car."
Well I objected heartily, but it was a short argument. When I agreed to this arrangement, I avoided a messy divorce and I agreed that I would do what ever she asked. I'd wanted to watch the ballgame on Saturday but I had to be satisfied to listen to it on the radio. I got out all the cleaning stuff and when Jim came over I had everything, bucket, hose, wax, vacuum. His instructions were simple, "While we're inside doing our thing, I want my car totally cleaned." When Mary met him at the door he told me that the door would be locked, but to take my time because he would be there awhile.
Nearly three hours later, he came out and looked at my handy work. He said three words to me "Nice job cuck"
He drove away and my wife waved as he drove off. She had a smile on her face.
I got to see the last three innings of the ballgame.

How deeply humiliating and belittling this little episode was for you.

Jim assuredly knows how to put you in your place and evidently takes great delight in doing so. Three hours locked out of your own home whilst your wife and her lover played adult games inside.

What must the neighbours have thought?

I bet there were a few curtains twitching. Did anyone come across to talk to you whilst you were cleaning his car? I am sure you did an excellent job on the car just as he did an excellent “job” on your wife, judging by your description of the smile on her face when they emerged from the house together.
