Nature's 80/20 Rule

A year or so ago I happened across the following:

Vilfredo Pareto (1848-1923) was an Italian economist who, in 1906, observed that twenty percent of the Italian people owned eighty percent of their country's accumulated wealth. While gardening he later observed that 20% of the peapods in his garden yielded 80% of the peas that were harvested. And thus was born a theory that has stood the test of time and scrutiny. The Pareto Principle or the 80:20 Rule has proven its validity in a number of other areas, such as corporate inventory management, where it's well known that 20% of a company's inventory represents 80% of the company's total inventory $ value.

So, I started thinking about how the 80/20 rule might be applied to the human population? The problem I had was deciding how to apply "value" to the world's human inventory. Intelligence? Yes, but how to accurately test for true intelligence? Dick size? Perhaps, but do larger dicks actually represent more value? Then it hit me; the 80/20 rule is a natural law, and natures primary responsibility, regarding humans, is our continuing evolution! In other words, nature's primary concern is protecting the evolutionary "value" of the human gene pool, and the 80/20 rule is a natural law; which means that 20% of the world's human population posesses 80% of the total evolutionary value of the worlds entire human gene pool. Which means that, if lady nature had her way, 20% of husbands (a significant subset of the worlds population) would produce 80% of the youngren (1 out of 5 husbands would sire 4 out of 5 youngren. Stated differently, between 3 and 4 out of 5 husbands should be cuckolds)!!! (Please let me know if you detect flaws in my logic.)

The other day I stured accross something that "might" be related to this subject (see The hyperlink is visible to registered members only! ). According to their research, 20% of penises measure larger than 6", which is, according to them, the average penis size (thickness and balls size also play a part in their calculations). They also report that men with 7" or larger dicks fuck significantly more than men with smaller dicks. Perhaps larger penises really are valued more by nature?

I find this information fascinating. Is it possible that cuckolds are merely acting upon nature's calling? Is the urge to be cuckolded natures way of ensuring human evolution - is the apparently growing number of husbands' desiring to be cuckolded an indication of their heightened awareness; a growing insight into their truer nature (enlightenment)? Having been an inventory manager, I'm know that the rule reliably applies to all companies that have large enough inventories (20% of a company's quantity of inventory items will undoubtedly represent 80% of the total value (monitarily) of the company's combined inventory). On the other hand, I at least know enough to be less than certain that the rule also applies to a similarly large human population (for instance, 20% of a nations quantity of people will necessarily represents 80% of the total value (evolutionally) of the nation's combined gene pool).

I'm must admit that I'm encouraged by Paretos discovery that 20% of peapods (quantity) consistently yield (genetically ?) 80% of the value of the combined harvest (peas ... youngren?).

Well according to some sources, cuckoldry may not be as uncommon in human populations as many people might think. Another way of looking at the 80/20 rule is this way:
Take a large group of males. In this group, you will have some males that are in the bottom 20% and some that are in the top 20%. I totally agree with what you're saying, although the 80/20 rule is based on natural law. In other words, Mother Nature decides what's best, because only she knows which husbands should raise other men's youngren, as well as which wives deserve the best DNA. The good news is, in my opinion, that cuckolds should probably end up with the most attractive wives, so that she is free to breed with the best DNA available.
