being honest

Way back to the end of '88. I met a girl at college who (how can I put this politely), was no oil painting. However, being very tall and slender she had my full lusty attention, despite me being in a LTR. Christmas pub crawl the inevitable happened. Ended up round her place and by golly she was even more perfect underneath clothes. My dream woman in all aspects. Anyway, new year new term, so 3 or so weeks later, she sits me down and said i have something to tell you - yep she was 'expecting'. Now obviously I felt something wasn't quite right time-wise but heh ho. We continued to see each other for a couple of months and then I split from her and LTR. Long story short, I signed the birth certificate. Still feeling not right about it though. Eventually I got to prove that it wasn't me. and hence my name removed from the certificate. On the day this happened my then GF (now wife) was so relieved and happy, that my sun was conceived that evening!
So, I often wonder if she had played it differently at the start and fessed up to being pregnant but not by me, could i have carried on a relationship with the woman with a perfect body and slut attitude to life, raising another man's offspring? Where would life have taken me....
