Recently while shopping for my wife for jewelry under the key word 'CUCKOLD" I was directed to all the usual ones we all know, including H.W. for Hot Wife, etc. One that popped up, however, which I had not seen before is that I was shown a couple of charms (for bracelets) of a TORTOISE (A land turtle). Does anyone get the connection between that and a cuckold or know the meaning?

In the Chinese culture the tortoise (in a kind of slang term/way) is associated as not being "sufficiently virile". So someone who wears a green hat (like the tortoise shell is to the tortoise) is considered a cuckold. A similar association is made with someone who wears a green scarf.
Hope this helps.

Thank you, popeye1 that sheds some light on it. I had never seen the tortoise associated with cuckoldry so I was curious as to why it was included in a "cuckold jewelry" search. We learn something new every day it seems!

Yes, in parts of China and east Asia, the turtle is symbolic of cuckoldry because female turtles will mate with any male turtles. In fact one insult in Mandarin is to call someone a turtle egg; roughly equivalent to **** of a bitch' but more accurately **** of a whore'.

Seriously? This site just censored me... but I think you know what it was supposed to say.

It is amazing the words they will censor...totally makes no sense. The word was similar to a male offspring, I am sure! Thanks again for the enlightenment!
