I can see that you might want to be a bit cautious. Plus there are some issues that have already arisen.

Talking with her to get a good understanding would be a great idea right now. Some people (perhaps you, or her, or both) can get a mental picture into their heads and have trouble negotiating the details with a live permister who may have other ideas.

Perhaps you could tell her that initially, you need it to be done together but that as you get more confidence in the situation, that it could change.
