Final bought it up with the wife - didn't go so well

I've been fantasizing about my wife with other guys for some time. I've mentioned little things in the past, but last night decided it was time to bring up the whole concept. The problem is, my wife has trouble admitting she enjoys raw sex. She says she enjoys with me, but when it comes to past experiences, she just won't admit it. Before we met, there were a couple of times she'd had sex on first dates with guys and written how hot it was in her diary. When we had marriage problems a few years back, we split up and within a week she was screwing some other guy. We attempted a recon - then split again 2 weeks later. A week after that, she was doing some other guy. Also, when we are together she really gets in to it, and then denies half of what she said afterwards.
So last night I bought it up. I told her that I realized she wasn't so turned on by me right now - I've put on a few pounds, and that I wanted her to experience great sex she was really in to. In addition, I told her I could understand her wanting a larger penis (I'm a little below average at 5") - although she never admits this to me. I asked her if she thought of having sex with other guys. She responded with 'why do you think i would tell you if i did' and then said no. I told her I would not think less of her, and would not react negatively and that I wanted her to be sexually fulfilled, even if not with me. She told me that it was disgusting and that married couples don't do that sort of thing and should only have sex with each other. She was disgusted with me and didn't want to talk about it again.
I think the fact that when we broke up, she had at least two other guys in a very short period of time shows she is in to sex and experimenting. I think it's been drummed in to her that it is wrong and bad to want sex, so she even lies to herself about it afterwards.
How do I get her to open up and embrace this lifestyle. I go crazy with excitement thinking about watching her, or having her tell me about some sexual activity. Any suggestions?

Don't rush things. Your wife seems to be thousands of miles away of your fantasies. Taking other guys when you broke up don't necessarily shows that she's in to sex.
It is a very long process : you can enjoy evry second of it. Just take it easy.., and find out things that would get you 2 to become more close first so she can start by telling you about her fantasies.
How long have you been married ? Do you have kids ?

Yep, great advice so far. At this stage, the idea is planted. So try and make every situation that you talk about it positive. The dating thing is a great idea. Think about it in terms of games you two can play at the beginning. Tell her a story about some hotwifes. Or, encourage her to go out with friends more often... All kinds of possibilities would then open up...LOL

Bottom line is be patient, supportive and one-minded, so she is sure you will not freak out if she really did it...

Thanks for all the good advice here. I have bought it up again when an opportunity arose. This time she came back with a concern that if couples do that, it leads to the end of the marriage. I assured her this wasn't true and that in many cases it can add excitement to a marriage and our sex life. If we both get pleasure from hit, how can it hurt.
Her reaction was far less objectionable than last time. I just told her to think about it.
