San Diego is just too long a drive. The 5 and 405 freeways are utterly useless.

If you drove at night, between 10PM and 5AM the drive takes about 2 1/2 hours.

If you drive in the evening, between 8PM and 10PM, the drive takes about 3 to 3 1/2 hours.

If you drive during the day, between 5AM and 8PM, it could take anywhere from 4 to 7 hours.

I used to drive it all the time as I had family in San Diego, in Imperial Beach.

The infrastructure of California just can't take the massive influx of illegal aliens and until our politicians enpower our immigration laws, we all suffer. Traffic jams is just one of the many problems we face down here due to illegal immigration.
