Ok lol I'm begining to sound like a preacarbonsmudger here but these things need to be said, especially for the first-timers. 3 times I've had to bail out friends who were to trusting and got themselves in a bad place with unscrupulous net scum. All three involved traveling to the scum so besides being embarrassing to my friends, it cost them the price of airfare and motel. So just a word here, an ounce of precaution is worth pounds of cure.

*be informative, but at the same time less is more, DON"T give out permisteral information, location does not mean address or even town, it means an area or state until you have made better aquaintenances with them, and then still be careful
* open an email account at yahoo or hotmail, using nickname and a false home address, NEVER give out your home email, direct all correspondence thru this addy
*communicate, start a line of chat with the permister(s), get to know them well before going further, MSN is a great messenger for this, but use the false hotmail address and remember whatever you place in messemnger they have access to.
*ask questions, use your common sense, if they hedge on answering, ask again, keep asking until your questions are all answered
* I know this is not always feasible, but my rule is to never play on the first date, sometimes because of travel this isn't possible, but always have an out, meet in a public place for the first time, sit and chat with them, get comfortable, if they press to hard or you feel uncomfortable, walk away
*have a back-up plan, a simple one is to give a friend or hide thier information someplace, let them know that you have to contact/call this permister at a certain time or he will come looking, then even if you have to call information, make that call, it will let them know you have people who will come looking if something goes wrong
* be paranoid, most people are good, but there are many out there who prey upon others, and what better way to do it than the anonomity of the net.

Please heed this advice,trust nobody until you really know them,then still be wary.

I agree with all of the above. Be very careful of course. However,
let us put in perspective what most of us want or think we want here.
Our wife, usually to have intimate relations with a stanger or near
stanger. Is there not some degree of inherited risk by its very nature?

And lets cut the crap here boys, is there some small eliment of that risk
or unknown factor thats makes the whole scenario what we want.
