You should ask her quietly and calmly, but make sure she's knows you're okay with her having sex whilst she's away. You could even ask her to make sure she has condoms in her purse in future "just in case", but you need to know.

There is a test kit you can get that will tell you if it is semen.. I would prefer the taste test..
