Although it sounds indiscriminate we have to bear in mind that I very high proportion of births within marriages in the US are not maned by the husband. I'd say that men are probably less discriminatory: an ovulting woman is making a very intelligent choice (from a survival and reproduction point of view) in choosing masculine, assertive men - known as bulls here.
