PART 1
I looked up from the well plated nachos, wading in an unknown cream sauce, straight into the eyes of my 50 year old wife. Maybe it was the smoky ambient bar light. Maybe it was the four double tall rum and cokes. Maybe I just automatically saw her eyes as they were when I fell in love with them 30 years prior. Regardless of the reason, they stopped me cold. Those eyes shined with the light of a fire burning at the core of her soul. Those same eyes had been captivating me for most of my life.
It would be worth noting before I recant the events of this night, that my wife and I, had been enjoying what you would call an alternate lifestyle. At a minimum, it didn't conform to the Protestant expectations for married relationships. What started as a traditional monogamous relationship eventually grew into us both exploring the company of others. During this period, I slept with several women, many times in front of my wife. She also enjoyed other men, both in my presence, and privately. There was always something so unique about sliding your dick into a pussy it had never explored. Every single pussy felt different. Eventually, the waitress dropped off the last round, and as we went to toast, the beautiful creature I call my wife, leans over and lays a French kiss on me that nearly knocked me over. We were both breathing heavy when we separated. Jessica casually and slowly took a sip of wine while staring directly into my eyes. That is when she said she had a surprise for me. A small smile started to form and then she returned to her wine as she said "I love you." I returned the platitude and my attention turned to the waitress as I signed the receipt.
In history there are moments when the world changes and everyone knows it will never return to its prior state. Pearl Harbor is an example of one of those moments. Other times, the world changes and no one knows until they look back and realize they don't recognize the past. The invention of the Internet is an example of this kind of moment. That night in the smoky bar was an example of the second kind of moment. My whole world had changed and I gave it no more thought than I would paying a random bar bill.
