Hello all, just a note that medical science is interested in the long term effects of these devices as more and more boomer patients present with penis fracture associated with long term erosion of penile tissues from mechanical contact with hard metal and plastic devices, vacuum pump usage and recreational use of Rx ED medications.
It is believed that the tough fascia that forms the tube so to speak of the penis, that holds b.l.o.o.d. to create an erection and stabilize that erection is being damaged by long term use of constrictive devices and or use of high vacuum pumps combined with over use of medications such as Cialis and Viagra.
This tube can be considered analogous to a thick plastic bag or other such stiff material substrate. It has a ribbed structure much like an accordion shaped tube. The fascial tissue between each rib section is susceptible to failure due to mechanical trauma from either acute impact/constriction or long term constriction, creating erosions or lesions that if left unhealed will always lead to mechanical failure/tearing.
It is suggested that these failures are due to a combination of patient age (over 50) and habitual self inflicted mechanical trauma. These injuries are increasing in prevalence and have led increased funding and interest in the discussion of penis trauma/corrective surgery versus traditional penis trauma/conservative treatment.
If you have a habit of wearing or using devices that push, constrict or otherwise interact with direct pressure to penile tissues, expect future problems which can lead to complete penectomy, removal of the penis, to save your life.

There are small fractures and large fractures, not all leading to the catastrophic emergency room result. Most are progressive and will lead to penis instability and eventually inability to achieve penetration/orgasm/ejaculation/urination.
Be careful out there gentlemen, you have been advised.
Edit : The word B.l.o.o.d. and the word f.o.r.c.e. is considered a vulgar term on this site. UK censorship hard at work!
