I ran into that problem a few days ago. Then it went away, but it seems to be back for you. Perhaps the issue is temporary, or perhaps not. I'm not sure if I'll run into that issue myself when I post in my own thread in a few minutes.
My workaround is to reduce the size of the larger ones and then post them. It worked for me the other day.
I figure you're computer literate enough to be able to do that yourself. If you want to know how I did it, just let me know. I compose mine in MS Paint, which is a much lower level of computer sophistication than you're doing. Sometimes I modify the image before I open it in Paint, that's a separate issue. Typically I do that to change the exposure level or to otherwise improve the details in the picture.
I use Paint for creating a smaller size (lower resolution) file with a modified file name, while still preserving the original. For the ones you have that are 2 to 3 MB, I don't think the difference would be visually discernible unless a person zooms in on the image.

I see what you're saying. I just did a test.
I took 'Potent' and ran it through Smoothdraw 3 cutting the size into half (1800 x ...) and then pushed it to max resolution - just over 850 kb. Frankly I cannot see any difference. I know you can but I doubt that 99 percent of the people looking could tell.
Just a thought. Why get frustrated. I know largest deal of your satisfaction comes from the process of creation.
Wouldn't an image half the size give you same? Use a some what smaller image but use the same care?

Yup - I know I could downrez all my caps, go back and change all my working templates and presets, and end up with something that isn't mine. And then I could do it again, and again, every time the site randomly changes the posting rules with no warning. The pic quality is everything to me - it's the most fun I get making these.
Anyway, it's been a great run. My sincere thanks to all that followed the thread and took the time for many instructive and rewarding replies. I'll still drop by now and then to take a look though. Keep up the great work, everyone. And thanks for all the fish...

OK - thanks to some extra time over the long weekend, I found what I think is a workaround. A few extra steps on my part, but very little effect on quality. Thanks for everyone's PMs with suggestions and encouragement. I still don't know what the max picture size has become - I'm waiting for an answer from the admin.
