I can relate. We've had similar situations where the young'un didn't go to relax as usual and interfered with things unintentionally. Such is life as parents...!
Don't fret though... it sounds like it may have worked out for the best. She is obviously comfortable with him, and having no intimacy their first time meeting could be the best thing. I wish my own experience with my wife had been as good. I persuaded her to go with another man, but my insecurity made me ask her to stop ater one night. We were talking about this the other night and I told her that I regretted that and wished I'd held my nerve and let her continue seeing her young lover.
