Last night during "Portlandia" on IFC, I saw a Cheetos commercial that [u]really[/u] caught my attention. It takes place in the woods at night and the camera moves into a tent occupied by a black man, a white woman and two kids: one mixed, one white. From the body language, the white kid is clearly the mom's and the mixed kid belongs to both.

The key is the kids look very close in age, the boy slightly older. Given how much careful planning goes into designing and casting television projects, I gotta ask: What message was being implied here? I'll leave it our imaginative members to post some ideas! ;)

Take a look at the Cheetos that pop out at the end of the commercial. The two Cheetos both look like hard dicks. The one on the right is thick and big. The one on the left looks like a pencil dick. What do you think coincidence or not?

I wouldn't read too much into it, as far as any hidden message. Advertising is all about reaching the max potential market. I'm seeing more and more interracial couples in commercials. It's all about demographic targeting. They're not promoting Black male - white female mating.

These subliminal messages are intentional and carefully designed. When you do a national campaign like these you have a lot of creatives reviewing thousands of alternative designs. Believe me, they saw the cocks and wanted the message in there.

A motto that no one can disagree with is that sex sells. That being the case, you want to put as much sex in the ad as possible, but often you need to it subliminally so that you don't offend people's prudish sensibilities.

That bk ad is hilarious. I agree, it's not very subliminal since anyone over 12 knows what they're getting at.

Afwmisom is right. My wife has been in marketing for a long time and every single aspect of every part of every campaign is reviewed by teams of people. Multiple meetings are had to tweak and brainstorm each aspect. Yes the demographics does play in but so does the sexual undertones. They're both planned.
