I haven't posted for a while because I haven't found anything worthy of a post! I just post what I like and I'm fairly picky. I don't just post everything that I run across.

Hey listen guys, let's not get too damn serious with our comments, huh! I mean guys like James, Hubby, Babbionz, and many others do a lot to keep this forum and thread going. Please everyone just understand that some of 'us' are not computer experts and do as well as we can while others are much more advanced. Beside that, some of us don't always have the privacy to fill our computers up with x-rated material and/or programs. And I don't mean to "slight" anyone else here because I for one appreciate all "posters" and all their efforts. Remember, there are always a lot more "lurkers" then "posters" and so those that are "more knowledgable," be tolerant of those of us that aren't as "knowedgable." I would hate to see this "forum" go the way of many others because someone starts bickering and that leads to more bickering. Tell you what. I don't get here very often but when I do, I always enjoy all you guys do for the rest of us. Just wanted to add my "two cents" in an effort to be helpful!

You mentioned not having the privacy to keep x rated programs on your computer. Here's a program to give you privacy and be able to hide and totally encrypt sections of your hard drive. And it's FREE:

It may seem complicated at first but once you do it, it's incredibly easy. You basically create a section of your hard drive that is a 'safe' and that no one else can get into. It could be as small as one picture or as large as 200 gigs. And when I say no one else can get into, I mean it. It can not be cracked once you set the passcode. The FBI or CIA can NOT crack it. (I know there's rumors that they have backdoors and other such nonsense but it's never been true). It would take all the computers in the world over 100 years to break the encryption. Yes, it's that secure. I've read court cases where computers were seized for evidence and the FBI had to admit in court that they are unable to break the encryption to see the files. It is secure.
Unlike other file encryption programs, this one decrypts 'on the fly'. You don't have to wait to open the files, it is automatic and just like you're accessng them in the normal way. Once you 'mount the volume', (unencrypt the files), you have full access to all the files. And mounting the volume is instantaneous.
You can even make the file hidden and rename it to anything you want with any file extension you want so others using the computer won't even know it's there. I make mine look like a txt file.
I personally have over 100 gigs encrypted on my computer and let the family use it when I'm not on it, including my kids. I know there's NO WAY they will see my porn files. My wife doesn't have a clue they are even there.
Another good thing about it is that if they come in while you are viewing the files, you can pull the plug on the computer and when it's restarted, the files are encrypted and in the safe (vault) and not accessible. I guess pedophiles or mobsters like that feature in case they are raided.
Like I said, Truecrypt is FREE and I encourage you to thoroughly read the help files in how to use it and practise with it a few times. Once you do it, it's incredibly easy. It's well worth a couple hours and a cup of coffee to read the tutorial and practise with it. Once you get it, and learn how to use it, you will have full privacy of your files.
And it's totally FREE. No spyware, ads or anything.
