I'm confused about a few details in your first post...it was your wedding night., and you were staying at a Marriott hotel. What was your wife doing "washing up" in a Marriott? The rooms I've stayed in don't have kitchens or kitchenettes, especially not the bridal suites, and it seems like something odd to do on your wedding night anyway.
