So you want to write an erotic story and I hope you do

I love reading the stories on this site, but sometimes very creative stories get lost because of their presentation.

I would like to offer some suggestions

1. Readability is huge. A solid block of print is overwhelming to most people's eyes. Computers do not appreciate the normal rules for paragraph indentation. Use the rules for writing business letters. Don't try to indent, it won't work. Instead skip a line each time you want to start a new paragraph.

2. I compose on notepad. It's in the accessories section of Windows. I do it because I can write on a half screen and keep pictures open on the other half screen. Trust me, sex scenes are much easier to write if you follow a series of pictures and describe what is in the pictures.

3. When I have completed the sement I'm writing I save it and cut and paste it to wordpad. Wordpad is also in the accessories section of windows. Wordpad can accurately be cut and pasted to this site.

4. However, before I upload my story segment I cut and paste it to my Microsoft word program so that I can use the word processor. This is my last proofread before I upload the segment. Once I have all the errors corrected (and some still slip by) I cut and paste the segment back to my wordpad, save it and load it.

I am certain that some of you will think I'm an arrogant asshole because this is very rudimentary stuff. To you I apologize. My only purpose is to help some very creative writers make their stories more readable.

I invite others to add their writing hints to this post. I am very willing to learn.

I totally agree Goodhusband, in fact, if I open a story that has no paragraphs, much less decent punctuation, I don't even bother with the story. I just close it right up and move on.

I will add 1 other thing to this: The Best Cuckold stories I have ever read have always been told from the 1st Permister standpoint (IE: told by the Wife, the Cuck or the Bull) and ALWAYS include lots of dialog between the hotwife and the cuck. This is all a mind game folks. You need to draw the reader into the story as much as possible, and nothing does that better than Dialog.

You wouldn't like a movie that is told in a completely Narrative style, by a permister who isn't even in the movie, and all you do is watch what the characters do on screen while listening to the narrarator, but never actually hear the characters speak! The same is true of erotic stories.

I agree also. You may have been referring to a story I recently posted. I'm only saying this because when I posted it, I knew that it needed a lot of editing and a better presentation. Honestly, I felt like I was in a rush.
I have removed it from the site, and will follow your suggestions. Sorry, for any inconvience.

Oh and also, I thought about having pics too. But, I thought that people may not want a pic because they may not want to be told what the people look like.
I'd like to know what everyone's consensus is.
