Have couples today lost their imagination when it comes to group sex?

I am a 50's Dom/Str/W/M and have been in the lifestyle for most of my adult life. Going by what I am seeing on many sites like this one and others that cater to those into swinging, wifesharing, cuckolding, etc. it seems that the imagination of the participants is a lot lower than in my heyday. It seems like the scenarios I was involved in with other couples and those with my own partners were a lot more interesting than what is out there presently. I would run into couples that had very odd but particular fetishes that rung their bell and others that came up with some new interesting scenario to enjoy every time they got together. From blindfolds and having sex with strangers they never got to actually see, to wives that were into submissively sexually servicing the same group of guys on a regular basis. At least there was usually a slightly different twist or theme to every encounter. From what I am seeing now, couples into wifesharing are just having plain vanilla sex with occasionally different partners.
Has this been brought on by the increased threat of STD's or have people's imaginations just waned? Is it the "politically correct" indoctrination in our society? Or is it the restrictions of porn laws that are prohibiting photo and video evidence of healthy sexual imaginations from being circulated?

Hmm. I agree on some parts especially when going to clubs. There's a few cliques established based in my opinion on looks, status, and , yes you guessed it shagging! I use that word because it's the term I heard used by a lot of swingers.. 10 mins later they're off home, because they have busy lives?

I think the world is very much an on demand and superficial place nowadays.

However, there will always be those who enjoy and live the fantasy. They will be creative, involving, compelling, nurturing and accepting.

I wasn't able to follow a lot of what you posted but you could be right about the cause of couples group sexual scenarios being milder these days. It may be that they just don't have the time to put into a sexual encounter to make it really unique and interesting.
I also have to lean toward the more lethal std's we have today as being a factor in why a lot of people have simply decided to drop group sex from their lives.
It is a shame that the youth of today can't really let themselves go and enjoy the uninhibited sex lives that their grandparents did. That seems so backward in this age of instant gratification in so many other areas.
