Avatars - Problems Loading (Have Read All Posts So Far)

Hello All,

Our problem is that we are trying to load our own avatar / image and feel that we are complying with the posting policy (<14kb & 100x100px or less), though we continually get the following error message;

"There was an error uploading the file! Probably, it has illegal type, too big size, or was not uploaded for some technical reasons. Please, try again or contact administrator for more."

I am trying to upload a 13.7kb .bmp or .jpg file. I have also read through all the technical support posts that relate to Avatar issues and don't see anything that is relating to this specific issue (though my limited tech skills could mean I have overlooked something or a post that actually already answer my question).

Just wanted to see if there was a possible reason that someone knows of before bothering the Site Admin.

what is the size of avatar in pixels?

Hello MBC.....new member here, having a similar problem....my avatar JPG is just under 6 KBs & measures 60 X 81 (kept shrinking it to get it to spec) but am still getting the error message.

Any assistance would be appreciated....thank you for all you do

Hi again MBC....yes, I finally got it uploaded. When I was trying the other day, I "swear" that it said 6 kb's was the max, then trying again yesterday, it said 5.....what'sup with the shrinking size criteria? (yes, I am a definite Size Queen)

Anywho, I shrunk it down just a wee bit more & voila.

Yes, 4 different times. I tried resizing by pixels, kb's - no luck.
