It's a shame that the Confederate Flag is linked to racism. In reality, the South was right. States should have ultimate control, not the federal government. A strong, central government is bound to abuse it's power and as we've seen, it often does.
If the South won, we would have less taxes and more freedoms.

I'm not so sure about that. What something like abortion, if the Republicans got their was, there would no longer be federal law and it would go back to a state level. The Democrats are the ones protecting the federal laws on it. I personally work in the insurance industry and that's on a state level except for a couple of laws, HIPAA and COBRA. I'm glad that they're the only ones though because when they do try to write federal laws on it, they don't know what they're doing (because of their lack of experience in it). Generally a lot of stuff is just molded from Iowa's laws (the most experienced in it). You have to also remember we didn't have 50 states back then so, I'm not sure having 50 states all doing their own thing today, would be so good....it would probably start a civil war, lol.
