It wasn't until now that I was lucky enough to be pregnant with a young I had no means to support. I tell you, for a long time, I thought it would never happen to me! So, to all of you pro-lifers who are trying to rain on my parade, keep it to yourself, because I don't have the time for that kind of negativity. No need to make polemics about fertility rates of different races: I was kidding! However, one cannot compare continents in different stages of development as to obtain reliable indicators. Scientific and economic development influence indicators of fertility (as they influence health).

I'd say I'm against abortion, because many lovable and important people who existed were not planned to be born or were even unwanted, at first. However, that's a very permisteral decision, which is subject to several conditions (economic, psichological, medical, etc.).

The debate above has been interesting. True we should discuss like with like. There are fundamental morals though that we should try to adhere to. One of the world's major religions sees nothing unethical in aborting female babies because its social structure prefers male abies. That should be challenged no matter how powerful its religious leaders are.
